SHFH Goal: Build 10 Homes in 5 Years
People across our community, and all over the world, partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers, and pay an affordable mortgage. With your help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better life for themselves, their families, and our community! Join us as we build homes in Fairplay and Dillon over the next five years.
SHFH will also be working on several new homes in the Summit Cove area near Keystone. We plan to break ground in the Spring of 2024!
In Fairplay, we have broken ground as of March, 2022. As an Enterprise Zone project, all donations to this project receive additional tax incentives so it offers a great opportunity to support one of our neighboring communities.
We are partnering with Ambrose Home Builder’s. Pete Ambrose is a building contractor from the Fairplay area. Pete & his crew help people build their dream homes thereby generating business back into the community. Ambrose Home Builder’s will provide eight workforce housing single-family units targeted to teachers, police officers, first responders and municipal employees. Read more about the impact this project will have on Park County! Hoosier Pass is an artery from Fairplay / Alma to Summit County with numerous residents commuting, seeking medical attention, grocery shopping, and recreating via the Summit Stage.
We have selected homeowners for the first two units of this project, and will be opening applications for the next 3 units in May, 2022, and the final 3 units in August, 2022. Click here for an overview of our homeowner selection criteria for the Fairplay project.
Thank you to the generosity of Summit County Government and Summit Homes for helping to make this project a reality!
Breaking ground in 2024 this project will bring five new homeownership units to this community minded Summit County neighborhood.
